Sweet Spot in Cycling: The Holy Grail?
• 6 min
The Sweet Spot
In cycling, the “Sweet Spot” is an intensity zone located just below your Functional Threshold Power (FTP). It’s about 88-94% of your FTP.
Why is it effective?
It is the intensity that offers the best “Physiological Gain / Fatigue Generated” ratio. You can hold this intensity for a long time (40, 60, 90 minutes for the well-trained) and repeat sessions several times a week.
When to use it?
- In the Base phase.
- To prepare for long climbs.
- When you have little time (1h-1h30).
Jolkia integrates Sweet Spot blocks to boost your FTP sustainably.
